Licensing the Ed-Fi Solution is Easy and Free!
Signing the free license for the Ed-Fi K-12 education data tool suite gives districts, state agencies, nonprofit organizations and vendors permission to use the Ed-Fi schema, source code and documentation in projects, services and products. The license includes common sense guidelines for using Ed-Fi materials and allows licensees to retain ownership of derivative works based on the materials.
As an additional benefit of licensing the Ed-Fi K-12 education data tool suite, we also give you access to a private GitHub repository that contains the source code for web-enabled Ed-Fi dashboards, ETL scripts, and a sample student database. These tools are free, and available for both modification and redistribution.
The following steps will guide you through the online Ed-Fi licensing process. Before licensing, you can preview the terms and conditions in our sample license agreement. Click here to find our current list of licensees.
