Aaron, an attentive student who had always excelled in math and science, became increasingly bored in class. He started missing classes and showing up late. With seven periods and five teachers, Aaron might easily have slipped through the cracks. But one instructor looked at his Ed-Fi-powered dashboard profile and recognized Aaron’s potential for advanced work in math and science. That same day, the teacher contacted Aaron’s parents to discuss ways to help. At a conference the next day, all three adults agreed to a plan, including placing him in more advanced math classes the following semester, and giving him more challenging lessons and homework to keep him interested and engaged in the meantime. His class attendance improved, and he was able to successfully transition into the Pre-Advanced Placement program at the start of the next semester.
