The Ed-Fi Community Awards are back! As our Community continues to grow it is our honor to recognize the hard work of our most dedicated and engaged Community members.

To kick-off the first Community Awards in 2017 we honored Don Dailey, Michigan Data Hub and Technical Team of the Year: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

In 2018 we honored the teams from INSITE, AWS, NEFEC and Scott Kuykendall of Delaware Dept. of Ed for their work to build and support the Ed-Fi Community.

2019 we recognized leading advocates, partners and technical contributors to the mission of the Ed-Fi Alliance, interoperability and the use of effective data in states, K12 schools and technology providers.

 2020 honored winners included Dr. Happy Miller, Executive Director of Research, Assessment, Data, and Accountability at Rio Rancho Public Schools, Lori Ludwick, Senior Consultant, UPD Consulting, Google Cloud & Innive, Inc., Latika Keegan, Vice President, Data & Analytics, Harlem Village Academies 

This year we are excited to announce two new nomination opportunities: Educators Leading Interoperability of the Year and Ed-Fi Starter Kit Implementation of the Year. If you know of an individual or an organization that has meaningfully contributed to the Ed-Fi Community be sure to nominate them today!

Nominations will close on Wednesday, October 15, 2021. The Ed-Fi team and the Governance Advisory Team will vote on the nominees. Award recipients will be announced at the Summit and celebrated that evening at the Community appreciation event on Wednesday, November 17th. Please be prepared to provide full name, organization, contact information and a short sentence on what the nominee has done to receive this recognition, in the nomination form.

Nomination Categories & Criteria

Partner of the Year
Nominees should be a technology provider, edtech company, or system integrator that has demonstrated a commitment to interoperability and the Ed-Fi Community by being a champion for data standards, a thoughtful partner for education agencies and a visionary in the use of data to improve outcomes for learners.

Ambassador of the Year
Nominees should have demonstrated commitment to the Ed-Fi Community and sharing the benefits of interoperability with others outside the Community. Nominees in this category are consistent advocates for the education technology sector and for using data to impact teaching and learning.

Technical Contributor of the Year
Nominees in this category should have contributed to the technical work of the Ed-Fi Alliance, demonstrated commitment to the Ed-Fi Data Standards and have demonstrated collaborative efforts to help others within the Community.

Rookie of the Year
Nominations are open to any individual or entity engaged in the Ed-Fi Alliance Community for two years or less.  This award is designed to recognize our newest participants that have demonstrated their commitment to data interoperability by quickly ramping up on the technology and diving into their Ed-Fi implementation and engagement with the broader Community. 

Educator Interoperability Leader of the Year
Nominations are open to any individual in the Ed-Fi Alliance Community for LEAs, EPPs and State Education Agencies. This award is designed to recognize educators, instructional leaders or program personnel who are leading interoperability efforts within their organization.

Solution of the Year
Nominations are open to any education agency or vendor. This award is designed to recognize teams who have successfully solved big education challenges with data and can demonstrate how they used the data to support students. Nominee must have demonstrated they used an Ed-Fi Starter Kit or Solution Guide to solve an entrenched problem in education using data through the Ed-Fi Technology Suite.
