Nancy is passionate about improving education policy and practice through better data quality and use. She serves as the Community Manager for the Teacher Preparation Data Model (TPDM) program. In this role, Nancy helps teacher preparation programs, state and local education agencies, and ed-tech vendors incorporate the Ed-Fi Data Standard and technology tools to enable better teacher preparation and educational outcomes. Prior to joining the Ed-Fi Alliance, Nancy served as CEO of DataSmith Solutions and helped state, regional, and national education organizations improve the development and use of statewide longitudinal data systems. Nancy also directed the Longitudinal Data Systems Initiatives program at the National Center for Education Statistics, where she oversaw the Statewide Longitudinal Data System Grant program and the development of the Common Education Data Standards and the Privacy Technical Assistance Center. Nancy earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin. When not talking data, she can often be found cheering loudly at Texas volleyball, softball and women’s basketball games.
