The annual Ed-Fi Summit & Bootcamp is only three months away. It feels like yesterday when we were all together Austin, TX sharing and learning at last year’s summit. With only a few months to go, it’s time to start thinking about purchasing tickets and planning your trip to Austin.

For those of you who are new to the Ed-Fi Community, or haven’t considered attending this event before, the Summit brings together hundreds of decision makers, education agency leaders, and technical experts to discuss and share best practices on how the ed-tech community can solve common challenges that empower educators and boost student achievement. Sound like something you’d be interested in? Great! Here’s where you can register.

Need a few more reasons to attend? No worries. We’ve got you covered. Here are four reasons to attend the Ed-Fi Summit & Bootcamp this October.

We expect this to be our biggest Summit yet.

Did you know that, since its inception in 2013, Summit attendance has doubled every year? It’s true! In fact, we’re growing at such a rapid pace that we actually sold out last year. But don’t worry – this year we’ve moved the Summit to a larger venue to accommodate all of our attendees. Which brings us to our next point…

The Summit is being hosted at a new, larger venue in Austin.

We’re really excited about this one! We’ve partnered up with the Hyatt Regency in Austin this year to host the Summit in their recently renovated facilities. Not only has the Hyatt invested in things like complimentary lightning-fast wi-fi and ergonomic workstations, but they are conveniently located in the heart of Austin.

The learning opportunities at Ed-Fi Summit & Bootcamp are endless.

The purpose of the Summit is two-fold: to educate the ed-tech community about the benefits of using the Ed-Fi Data Standard and technology tools, and also to facilitate conversations (through working sessions) about how the Ed-Fi Community can solve education challenges through data integration. During these working sessions, you will be given the opportunity to work collaboratively with industry peers to discuss goals, strategies and learnings on the advantages of data interoperability in the ed-tech industry.

“Networking! Networking! Networking!”

And while we’re on the subject of opportunities at the Summit, let’s talk about the opportunity to network. The Summit is designed to help facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking among education and technology leaders from across the country. Between the kick-off luncheon, happy hours, partner networking events, and the closing luncheon, there are countless opportunities to connect with your industry peers, meet new friends and make new contacts.

If those four reasons aren’t enough, send us a tweet at @EdFiAlliance and we’ll send you another four! What can we say? We’re just REALLY excited to connect, share and learn with you all in Austin come October. Our hope is that you will walk away from this Summit feeling inspired and with a clear path forward as we continue to shape the vision for our collective success in effective data use.

Until them, stay informed on the latest Summit information and updates via our email newsletter or Twitter using the #EdFiSummithashtag.
